spinoff to "like" post
Are there any words or phrases that you or your SO use a lot? DH says "you know" all the time and I always have to call him out on it, he doesn't even know he is saying it after every three words!

I teach a whole class on "filler words" and how to stop using them.
People are almost never conscious of the fact that they say those things.
In the class we tape record them having a "typical" conversation and the play it back for them so they can hear them all. It's always eye opening.
I'm super-sensitive to them because of that, so I rarely use them, but DH is forever saying "in terms of" as filler.

DH says "not for nothing" a lot. He's been saying it for years.
For the most part I can ignore it. But there are times when I feel like challenging him and asking what exactly he means by saying that.

I say "per se" a lot. DH calls me out on it and I try not to say it too often.

I always like say like, "ya know" Its like part of my like normal vocabulary. I wish I can like, ya, know STOP like doing it. It is like sOooOo friggen annoying!
Its true though. We dont realize how much we use these silly filler words!

DH and I have a habit of saying "pretty much".
Now I am worse than him and our friends are always teasing me for constantly using it. I got it from DH, though.
DH also says "sounds good" a lot especially on the phone.
"Not for nothing" I say a lot too.

I make a noise, when I am slightly annoyed. Like a Tuhh sound. I never knew I did it till Damien started to do it. I was like where did he get that from My DH was like are you kidding me, you do it all the time
