would it bother you?

if you have future relatives that misspelled your name? my name is very simple, S-A-R-A-H, and i realized it can be spelled without the h. but fh's cousins send us a card with my name spelled wrong. they are not the only ones. i know there is nothing i can do, aside from tattoo my name to my forehead, adn i'd just have to make sure my name is spelled right then

Take it from me, I know ALL about the name mispelling! I'm hoping, at least, that they pronounce it correctly! 99% of the people I know say my name incorrectly, I've just given up already!
I think you have every right to be annoyed, your name is part of you, part of your identity. I think people could make the effort to spell it correctly!
It is so funny that you just posted this - I am writing cards and have two cards where there are sara/sarah's and stressing cause I'm not sure which spelling each uses!

It would DEFINITELY bother me! But I'd probably just be passive agressive and BOLD my name when signing cards to the misspellers.

It's frustrating, I know (I don't know how many times my first AND last name have been spelled incorrectly) I'm Debra, not Deborah

Next time you send them something, put the 'H' in bold

My grandma always spells Dh's name Jayson...instead of Jason...he doesnt care

Nah, as long as its pronounced correctly. some people on paper just cant seem to get the spelling right not of just names but many other words too.

I know it can be frustrating. My name is constantly mispelled. I always get Jacklyn or Jacqueline, and it's Jaclyn. I also get Jacky, when it's Jackie. I have a friend who has known me practically my whole life and she still spells it wrong.

In the case of the relatives, I would make it a point to send holiday cards to them, with your name obviously spelled correctly, and hope that they eventually pick up on it.

I wouldn't be annoyed if I spelled my name really strange - but Sarah is a pretty easy one to get right -especially since by now they're seen plently of things with your name right, shower invites, wedding invite..

A few months ago, my husband asked me how to spell our daughter's name - SHE'S TWO! He said "There are different ways to spell it." - as if he actually knew there was a french spelling of it.

Yeah its annoying - and even now that we're married some still spell it with a C instead of a K. IMO its rude, Im in your famikly now, learn how to spell my name. I send you a Xmas card for crying our looud - my name is right there.

Don't let it get to ya...my grandfather...yup good ole gramps...spelled my name wrong my entire life...every birthday, Christmas and Easter when he sent me bunny money..my name was always spelled wrong!!!

It would depend on how close I was to them. All you can really do is keep spelling your name right and hope that they get the hint . . .

At my baby shower, everyone had to sign a mat inside a frame, so I could hang it on the wall. My invitation was on the frame with my name in BIG letters....I have about 4 people that wrote my name wrong.

Ok - so I wrote out the text for my best friends shower invite and sent it to her mom for final review and her mom CHANGED the spelling of MY new last name because she thought I had misspelled my own name. The invite went out to everyone with my name spelled incorrectly. *** is up with that?!?

my grandmother ALWAYS spelled my name "alyson" instead of "allison" bc she disagreed with my mom when i was born on how it should be spelled. so her 24 yrs of revenge was in my bday cards!
