Breadbox saga continues!

So awhile back, I inquired about whether a breadbox is necessary or not. Well, we bought one. $30 at BB&B. It totally did the job!!! We bought rolls about 10 days ago. Normally, they're sprouting green mold within 3 days. Today, they are still mold free!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Really? I always thought that they were mostly for cosmetic purposes. I didn't know that they helped bread stay fresh longer. (duh)

Knowing that, I'd love one, but our counter space is so limited. Chat Icon

Re: Breadbox saga continues!

We put our bread in the microwave to keep it fresh. Works great..seriously lasts for weeks!! I wanted a bread box, but we just don't have the room for it, the the microwave will have to do!!

Sure!

It was $30 at Bed/bath and it's chrome. They also have wooden ones.

I used to frig the bread, but DH hates it that way and it does take up so much room because we have bread, rolls, wraps, etc so we'd have to designate a whole shelf to bread. The microwave idea is good too, but DH's parents do that and there were so many times when I'd have 2 dishes to heat up, and I'd have to empty the microwave first and then remember to put everything back Chat Icon

I am with you on this! I have a breadbox and it does wonders! It really keeps the bread fresh for weeks instead of days.
