received a letter in feb under married name. called in for 3 days and was dismissed on the 3rd day. a week later i received another letter for grand jury under my maiden name. ignoring it as it is not my legal name.

ETA: my # was in the 3000's. don't think they even reached the 2000's.

The summons I received for this week had my maiden name and I called and asked them how to change it and they told me to cross it out so I did and wrote my married name, I wonder the next time they send me something if it will be in my maiden name

wait, i am confused was it a prelim letter or an actual summons to report for duty?

I have to report if my number is mentioned when I call in. I guess we're getting confused when we hear "get called for jury duty." I have the summons with the jury number and they haven't mentioned my number when I use the call in service. Sorry if I'm confusing you Everything I've gotten in the mail has my maiden name though, that's what I was confused about.

you can also look online, they tell you the numbers that are called for the next day.

I went on the website that was listed on the summons and couldn't find the numbers.

Ok, so I have to go in tomorrow and I have no idea what I have to do. Has anyone gone? Do I just sit in a room with a bunch of people and wait until they call you? Can I take a bag full of stuff to do?

I haven't gone to jury duty myself but I hear you should bring a good book or magazine, you might not have much to do!!

Also, they say you can't bring your cell phone.

Yeah, bring stuff to do. I brought a newspaper and book. I saw people in the big room knitting, and many teachers were grading papers and such. I was in the big room for half an hour. You can be in that room all day!!!!
