If you are allowed 2 people I'm sure most of us will have our DH...who is your 2nd? Mom? MIL? Sister? Friend?
Who would you have and why???

I agree with that. To me is a personal and private thing. Afterwards, when everybody is safe and sound and cleaned up, then the world can come in.

Personally, I wouldn't want anyone but my DH and a doula in with me if there is a next time.
But if I HAD to chose a family member I would have my sister since she will most likely never be able to have a child.

I don't want anyone in there except DH and I'm a very open person about my body- I just see this as a very private thing for me and DH.

DH is going to be in the room obviously, but my mom is going to be in there too (for when dh passes out)! I could not imagine my mom not being there, I know for her this is going to be one of the greatest moments in her life as well, watching her baby have a baby, and I cannot wait to experience that with her too!

i agree i think i feel this way b/c although i am very close withmy mom i think this is someting that my dh and i shoudl experience alone. We have been through a lot to have this baby and i want us to share the end result alone and i want it to be a moment i will never forget!

Besides DH , I want my mom in there. I want her to experience seeing her daughter give birth and I want her to share in that joy with me and DH. A plus is she is an RN too so I want her expertise in there to tell me everything they are saying and doing too. and I know she will have my best interest too.

In my labor room I had my dh, mom and step dad (not by choice). I only wanted my dh and mom thank god I had to get a c-section and only dh was allowed in. I was soo uncomfortable through my whole labor time that my step dad was there. he kept makingwise cracks that contractions didnt look that painful. my suggestion is to have whoever you would feel most comfortable with.

I think I would like my sister in there with us.
I have such a weird fear now..DH and I will be together 12 years by the time the baby is born. It has always been the 2 of us. I know I am in for the transition of a lifetime, a good one, but still a huge one.
Once I deliver, I know Leo will go over and check out baby, I completely want him to. But I also just see him walking away to his new love, which I am okay with, just never dealt with. I think having my sister there will be a good support for me.
i don't know if that even makes sense...too much thinking time on my hands right now.

I originally just wanted it to be my DH and I but since my father recently passed away I've had a strong desire for my mom to be there as well to witness the joyous occasion.

and your DH and mother allowed this??
 to you..you are quite a women.
First baby I let my aunt be the #2 because like Michelle's sister,she'll never experience it.
This time around,only DH.

The reason I had my mom in with me is because when I was 6 weeks old she had a terrible accident where she was burned seriously. She was in the hospital for about 2 months. I wasn't allowed to come to her room because of risk of infection. She missed me being a newborn.
I am very close to my mom and felt like she deserved to be there.
I am so glad she was there for the birth of my son. She was supportive and held my hand.
