Just curious, is it the case in this demographic (ie everyone on LIF) that most people get pregnant right away after they get married???
My hub and I have been marrried for 7 years and have just had our first...no reason, we just weren't ready.

Originally- we were on the 5 year plan... now that it's been a year-- it may be more like 3. We'll see. I go in and out of "baby fever".. but not any time soon.

Depends how old you are too I would think.

that is what happened to us. we were on the 4-5 year plan. it ended up being the 2.5 year plan. a definite surprise!

Ditto...we were on the 5 year plan. 2 down, 3 to go. I actually have a very strong maternal instinct, but it just isn't the right time for us right now. We are enjoying being married and spontaneous. I never lived near a lot of my friends before I was married, and now I love picking up and socializing at a moment's notice. We also aren't financially ready. However, whenever I see a baby, my gut reaction is, "I want one!"

I am way behind, almost 33, not married anymore, dating but no plans of marriage any time soon and am at a selfish stage again in my life. Enjoy being Aunt Kristi.... however, when things do fall into place I worry about my biological clock sometimesa lthough what is meant to be is meant to be!!!

I see them..clear as day in the near future..Unfortunately my DH doesn't
me tooo!!! I want one sooo bad but DH is not ready just yet. he does want them, just not now... i would welcome one tomorrow if i could! hopefully i can convince him in a year or so (i'm almost 33 and i don't want to wait much longer )

Good question, I can't answer for others but for me age was/is a factor. We began to TTC after a year, mostly because I was 32 when we got married. I would have loved to have more married time before kids.

With me starting a new job, and DH owning his own business, and hectic schedules, I do not see it any time in the next 3 or 4 years.
If it happens, it happens. But we are not "tryin g" any time soon.

 Doesn't it stink. My gyno isn't going to be happy to see me next week. She told me next time she saw me she wanted to hear I was stopping BC pills. I tried to use her as an excuse with DH but he didn't go for it. I am 29, but I don't want to wait too long. I know difficulties may arise and I don't want to wait and chance it. My aunt went to a psychic and she said by the time I am 31 I will have a child and she sees a multiple birth..so for now I am holding on to that!! Good Luck to you!!

I remember wondering the same thing too because I didn't meet DH till I was 31 and I was getting ready to throw in the towel. You could very well meet the love of your life tomorrow- if anyone would have told me that I'd be engaged to DH after 8 months I would never have believed them.

I dont see a child for 2 years (I just refilled a years worth of BCP!) if at all. I go back and forth if I want children, more towards not wanting children. Unfortunately I have so many people asking me and thinking that I'm weird because I dont want kids that I'm worried that they are starting to sway me, and thats not the right thing. I know what I need to do is for me and hubby but I just can't help it.
Over the past couple of days I've been going to the library near my job and reading a book called "Do I want to be a mom?" I'm about halfway in and havent gotten any insight yet.

We waited 4 years after we got married as we could not afford it and we were married young.
I love my kids to death and would do it over a million times but it is HARD!! They constantly bicker and fight and they are 5 years apart!!

We're not think about TTC until we buy a house. Our plan was to buy a house next year, but we may relocate in a few months and rent for another year. We'll probably start TTC in about 2 years. Of course DH wants 4  so we may need to start a little sooner.

Me and DH said as soon as we were married and had a house we would ttc....we got married in April, moved into our house 4th of july weekend and I got my BFP on July 16th....we wasted NO time 
I will be 31 when my baby is born
DH will be 27 (turn 28 2 months later)
