Just Thought I'd Share My Gift From My In-Laws
........
NO, Not a typo. I got nothing from them. Not even a mother's day card which would be better than nada. It's been a week since my MIL got out of the hospital, you think they had time to get a card.

I did get a Happy Mother's Day phone call from my MIL, but I wouldn't have expected a gift.
The only ones I wanted something from on Mother's Day were a 2 year old & 4 year old.

I honestly can care less about gifts, but cards are always given. She quickly read our card & put it on the side.

Yeah but I would only give a card to MY mother -- and MIL just because DH doesn't think of these things. If it is a tradition in her family, that is one thing. But I never give or expect cards from people who aren't directly affected -- like I don't give mother's day cards to my sisters, even tho they are mothers. Their kids give them cards.
Or father's day cards to my brothers... etc.. I know my mother doesn't give mother's day cards to any of her daughters or DILs.
I guess we just aren't big into the card thing - fortunately for me, so I never get offended.

In my case, I have sat at countless Mother's Day's where SIL got expensive perfume, etc. So yeah, it rubs me a little odd that I got NADA. That's okay, her birthday is in a few weeks and maybe we'll give her the same gift!
