Has anyone bought furniture from TARGET???
We have an apartment...don't want to spend a lot of $$$ and we saw a nice dining room set well I guess dinette...just wondering how the quality is. I am not looking for this thing to last 10 years but just to serve its purpose.

We bought our TV armoire and coffee table from Target and it seems fine. We've only had it for six months, but there is no sign of any problems.

My SIL did, she bought a coffee table and a console table maybe 2 months ago. Its very pretty and so far so good. Even with 2 kids jumping all over it.

That's very nice.
I bought two ladder-style bookshelves from Target online. I love them. They are beautiful pieces and very sturdy. Most of their stuff looks to be good quality (unlike K-Mart)

A couple of bookshelves and our TV stand. It is holding up pretty well so far. Just be sure you read the directions. Sometimes the stuff you put together gets really screwed up if you do it incorrectly.

kathleen...i bought a kitchen table and hutch from kmart. when i moved in with dh, i gave the table to my sister. i still have the hutch

Recently I bought my living room end tables from Target. I love them!
Back in college I bought cheap bedroom pieces from there.. and armoire and dresser. Not the best quality (bottom of drawers is like a heavy cardboard, back or armoire is heavy cardboard) but they are still in great condition. I am using them for extra storage in my basement.

WE just bought a storage bench with cushion and a tall-boy dresser for my sons room. Very well made, we were pleasantly surprised, and my DH put them both together in one evening.

I just bough my daughters bedroom set from target online. Unfortunetly it came broken, and its goign to take them a week to ship out another one. If you can pick it up yourself it might save you the hassel.

We had a tv stand from there and we still have a microwave stand. Both are well-made.
Recently though I went there to look for a desk and what they advertised as wood was not - a part of the floor model was chipped and it was plastic-y underneath, so maybe it was a wood veneer.

I thought so, I was thinking of a friend who had a chest of drawers and becasue she was careless assembling it, the front of the drawer kept falling off  If you are good at putting things togeterh, you should be OK.
We also have a microwave stand from there, and that is great!

My DH bought a computer desk there in 99 Still holding up after about 3 or 4 moves.
We bought our coffee table and end tables from Target and they are holding up!
We have a microwave stand and pantry and I love them and get lots of compliments on them.
