How many people had to wear

braces when they were younger?

Were they the big metal ones?
The clear ones?
Invisalign?



I had the big metal ones for 4 years. I got them off about a month before senior prom!

I wore braces (the big metal ones) and I hated them.

But now I realize I was lucky to have them since I have such straight teeth

I wore braces (the big metal ones) for 3 years...from 13 to 16. I was pretty miserable about it.

Not me! It was recommended for my bottom teeth but my parents couldnt afford it. Now that I am older I wish I had them!

I had the metal ones on the top for a year and a half. I got them off right before my Bat Mitzvah.

I had to wear the big metal ones...

I used to get the colored rubber bands..mainly pink and black..
I thought I was so cool. For my 8th grade graduation picture, I had the black rubberbands around each tooth..it looked like my teeth were black and rotting in the pic...it was horrible!!!

Was it cool to get those colored things around the braces too?
I remember people did like rainbow colors but I liked to have one color and then switch it up the next visit.

I remember talking to people and the little rubberbands would pop out of their mouth sometimes!

My parents couldn't afford it.... and it caused a LOT of problems for me later on... I just got mine off in December, I got them on when I was 25 years old... I'm now 29 and my teeth still aren't right... much more surgery is in store for me...

If you can afford it, GET your kids to the orthodontist right away, have them go through it then... it was not fun as an adult.

I did - the big metal ones - I remember I had them before I started high school - so through out my junior high school days!

I remember, there was a point where me, my sister and brother had them all at the same time!! It was a huge expense for my parents, but it really was the greatest gift they could of ever given us and im so happy we had them.

I did - from 6th grade until 8th. They were the metal ones, and I remember it hurt like heLL when I had to get them adjusted. I couldn't chew anything!
I remember food getting stuck in my braces, not being able to chew gum or anything hard like apples, having to use that wax so that my mouth wouldn't get all cut up, and oh yeah, the rubberbands flying out of my mouth if I opened too wide!

I also had to wear a nightbrace in addition to the braces. It wasn't easy to sleep with that thing on, especially when you're a side sleeper. And I would a lot of times wake up with drool all over my pillow

After I got the braces off I had to wear all kinds of retainers, upper and lower.

But I'm so glad I went through that whole ordeal because I have perfect teeth now

Me, but I only had to for a year, and they made me look older (I was 12), so all of these 16 yr old guys would hit on me I think I have a picture...hold on.....

I had them from age 9-11, didn't wear my retainer so I got invisible ones on the bottom again the year before the wedding. I wasn't a candidate for invisalign (my bottom middle two teeth were too far apart--one forward, one back), but my insurance covered half. I think I paid $2500. I guess I am glad I did it, though you can't really tell when I talk or smile. Just something nice I did for me to feel better about myself.

I had them for a little over a year in 9th grade.
I had tons of troubles with my teeth when i was younger - and they wouldn't fal out on their own, so I had 3 different surgeries to have a total of 19 teeth taken out .

Then I had big spaces in between the teeth - so they gave me braces to fix that.

And now......

I did not need them, but my 2 sisters and 2 brothers had them.
