Pfft! I'm lucky he can drive at all! His parents would never let him learn to drive when he was a teenager, so he had to learn from someone when he was 19 (meanwhile, we live on LI and it's not like public transportation is so easy around here). When I met him, he had never driven on a highway. I whipped him into shape right away, however, there's very little hope of him ever learning to drive stick. He's too scared

We both do. I had one for six years, he owns a stick now; I love driving a standard and I think it makes you a little more aware of what you're doing.
