we all have the right to our opinions
But honestly if someone took your car with your child in it IT WOULD BE YOUR FAULT

and if your child was taken from your front lawn, thats your fault- there is no difference when it comes to safety issues here. and I guess they would have to hot wire it too if I took the keys huh? Chat Icon

DID YOU READ MY LAST POST???????????

I WOULDNT LEAVE MY CHILDREN UNSUPERVISED IN THE FRONT

Re: mens rooms

while I don't think it was acceptable for the dad to bring his daughter in with him, that's much better than to leave her on her own when in a split second anything can happen even in the ladies's room.
He did what he felt was in his daughter's best interest and I commend him for that. At least he can see her and supervise her.

But thats where parents differ..
I DO live my life to protect my children.. when they grow up and are on there own I will STILL worry about them.. but obviously there is a time to let go..
I dont feel that age is at 10.

who is saying to let go for letting your daughter go into a ladies room by herself letting go??????????????Chat Icon

ok.

WHat if it was the *DAD* That had to go... and he Could NOT hold it in????? Honestly- i think that if it were just the Daugher that had to go, he probably wouldve waited outside.

Well I meant.. obviously they get to an age where they might be able to fight god forbid a crazy person off.. a 10 year old no matter how responsible and mature they are.. are STILL CHILDREN.. they make way to many bad choices ( as all kids do) to be able to be left alone.

Someone else brought up guilt vs criminal acts regarding parents not me. Back to my main point (not being kids left in cars or being stolen from cars), I think 10 yr old girls should be allowed to go in womens bathrooms solo.

As someone else said, when you become a parent, and your are overwhelmed with love and responsibilty, your views ( with the exception of a few VERY SMART, non moms who are posting) will change

I dont think you get it!!!!!!

YOU MUST PROTECT YOUR CHILDREN!!!!!
so that means realizing this world isnt sugar and spice and everything nice

ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN ANYWHERE ANYTIME
so trying your best to prevent bad things happening to your child is your job as the parent

I wouldnt allow my children to play out in the front yard without my supervision, or leave them alone in the car,or let them wait outside while I use the bathroom and I am sure a lot of other things I wont let them do unsupervised because its my job to PROTECT THEM

LOLChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Since this is like the 3rd time you are calling me out and telling me to live my life according and blah blah blah- who the hell said it was sugar and spice. you need glasses AND a class on reading comprehension.

YOU DONT GET IT obviously cause youre making statements that dont pertain to what I have been saying: and I dont have to have kids to understand and how to be a protective parent.

i dont disagree with letting her go into the bathroom herself, and (the dad) waiting right outside of the door. Give it 5 minutes, if shes not out, then take action.

BUT, i think its different if it was because (now i sound like i'm beating a dead horse) HIM that needed to go.

Re: mens rooms

Could of she gone in by herself- yes

If dad had to go though... then he did the right thing... plain and simple...

If your DH came home and said, Jenny got abducted at the movie theater because I had to pee... you'd say to him... "why couldnt you hold it" or "Why didnt you bring him in"

He did the right thing...botttom line! He was protected his child... bottom line...

I can only hope my DH would do the same in that situation...

And as for leaving a child in a car.... Im sorry... leaving a CHILD in a car unattended is STUPID!

I hope you are not talking to me because once again the whole CAR DRAMA has nothing to do with me. I said for the last time if I saw someone elses child left in a car, I would not call the cops if they were 10 and 12.

this is RUDE- just because you ARE a mom doesnt make us NON moms unable to be PROTECTIVE mothers or person!

Re: mens rooms

I think its impossible for any mom to watch their kids 24-7.
I think what some of us are saying is that we do the best we can with what we have control over..
I have control over leaving my children alone in a public place or in a car..
