Sorry June, didn't mean to be so harsh!

I'm just amazed how many ppl here forget that if not for many of her own actions...she'd return like all of her classmates.
Oh I def think those 3 know more...but do I believe they cold heartedly killed her? No. From day1 I thought she prob overdosed & they( Juron & Co) panicked.

Everyone is entitle to their own opinions. I just would not feel safe if something criminal happened to me in Aruba with the way the government handled this case.

Up until now she's been viewed as a poor victim and now all of a sudden because witnesses are "claiming" they found drugs in her possession now all of a sudden she is the "typical teenager".

There is much more to this case that we don't know but those three had some involvement in it. whether it they murdered her or not.

I really think she has been portrayed as a "typical teenager" from the beginning. There were always reports of her drinking. At least the articles and reports that I have read.

Aruba is not an isolated country when it comes to not handling crime in the same manner that we do in the US. They are not as well equipped as the US to handle such crimes. While everyone is entitled to their opinion, I think that you are only looking at one side of the story as far as how Aruba officals handled this case.

If she had possession of drugs on her than those three influenced her to have them. After all as other people have said, we can't forget that she was a "typical teenager" and teenagers can easily be influenced.

I don't think that crying or not crying on TV makes any statement about the person when a tragedy happens. People handle emotions differently and grieve differently.
I personally think she made some poor decisions that day and unfortunately those decisions had some awful consequences.
Like I said before, there's more this case that hasn't been said......

I agree. Like I said, that article really pointed out that the parents had undermined the investigation and you really cannot negate that and just blindly blame the Arubans.

ETA: and by saying this, I am not saying that this is not a tragedy, I just think there are many sides to this case

I haven't seen her cry, she has always seemed cold to me. Of course, a child is a child no matter what in a mothers eyes.
I just know that as a mother, God forbid I was in this situation..I'd be devestated but also pi$$ed off royally at my son for his own stupid mistakes!

You guys have seen her cry...my very good friend who is an american citizen & manager of one of the top casino's in Aruba has seen her drunk many times at the bar ( all comp'ed) & doing Kareoke (sp?) with her little group. Now thats Chat Icon

Please share your rational for that sentence??? You have no idea if Natalee did drungs on a regular basis or not! Do/Did you know her personally to make that assumption?

There is A LOT that we don't know about the case. I agree with others, that her own choices that night most likely was the contributing factor to her disappearing. It's a tragedy all around.

You don't think it is possible for her to have had them on her own?

I'm curious too. There are A LOT of people I knew in HS that were stoners but had good grades, went on to good colleges, etc. You would NEVER know...

What makes you so sure of this? Is it really that unfathomable that she was partying of her own accord?

She was away from home, her parents and having a good time. Unfortunately, it ended tragically.

More than anything else in this case, I always wonder where the heck her friends were. My friends and I always say that -- even at 18, we would NEVER have let one of us go off with strangers on an island far from home!

My friends and I were always on that same note. Not even on a far island but even around home. If you went out with certain friends, you are going back home with whoever you went out with.
This reminds me of the case we have here in NYC with Imette StGuillen.....her friend departed and she went to the Falls Bar....

No one is saying you aren't entitled to your opinion.

But I still do not understand this statement:

If she had possession of drugs on her than those three influenced her to have them. After all as other people have said, we can't forget that she was a "typical teenager" and teenagers can easily be influenced.

I never said you weren't entitled to your opinion. I said that your opinion seems one sided. I'm sure a lot of others won't go to Aruba either.

I think like Aruba there are a lot Caribbean countries that would not be able to handle an investigation like the US does.
I think those who have not been to Aruba have no idea what they are missing. It's absolutely paradise there and the people are sooo friendly. I never felt unsafe while I was there.
I think that boycotting Aruba does not solve the problem......but that's just my opinion.....

Do a Google search on her name... you'll see that most ppl could give a ratz azz for some missing girl from Alabama when 1 million teens are reported missing in the US every year.
There are even statements on various sites as this being "just another control ploy by americans" in referance to americans(FBI) coming in & wanting to head an investigation in a foreign country where they have no jurisduction.
Thanks to the war in Iraq & countless other fiasco's...the world doesn't really love us..& views us as control freaks.

Edited to say that the first portion above..are not my words..its what I've read.

Exactly, this could have happened on almost any Caribbean Island, Mexico, or any Central American country and had the same results.
