Re: Newborn Question

There was one point where Alex hadn't pooped in a few days and seemed to be uncomfortable. The doc told us to use glycerin suppositories but she ended up going before we resorted to them.

Re: Newborn Question

You can pretty much only use glycerin suppositories in a newborn as far as I know.

Beware...Alimentum is FOUL. It stinks and Miranda refused the powder, we had to use the ready to feed. It also gave her diarrhea, dark green and stinky. But they thought she had a milk allergy so we had to stay on it.
Have you tried soy? I might try that before Alimentum if your doc says its OK.

I was told by my pediatrician to "stimulate the anus with a thermometer". Worked.Chat Icon

He recommended we try this because he said he could have a milk allergy. Is your little girl stil on it? Did it help her?

TIA

Re: Newborn Question

my son is on nutramigen which is the enfamil version of alimentum. he was COLIC...it was terrible. We tried the soy first it worked for a week then it constapated him. We switched to Nutramigen and dr brown. he got better slowly i don't know if it was the formula or time that helped. he is still on it..i am scared to go back to regular formula. His colic traumatized me!
