My son is Kevin Louis.
Other names we liked were Stephen, Brian, Keith, Shawn/Sean, Ryan, Thomas and Alex. I like Scott but DH did not. I also like Michael and Matthew but they are my youngest cousins names so didn't want to use them. All with Louis as a middle name (DH's name). We had it real tough with boy names we didn't love any. Many of the names we liked we already used by close friends so we didn't want to repeat.

I have always loved a formal name that can easily be turned into a nickname.

If ours is a boy it will be Andrew Joseph. I really like Matthew, but DH doesn't for some reason he can't explain. I also like Michael, but my brother and father are both Michaels, and I didn't want to take the name in case my brother ever wants to use it.

You know mine...
Sean Michael and Kevin Mattingly (Denise and I have similar taste in boys names - her next son will be a "Sean"   )
Other names we couldn't agree on were: Aidan, Adam, Ryan, Thomas and Benjamin. But, I really like Matthew!

It's taken some getting used to (I'm so traditional), but my DH almost cried when I said ok, so it was worth it!! I just hope my boy doesn't grow up to be a Mets fan!
