My Wonderful New Years (really long)

I know this board is not family related but I have to vent on this board.

My new years started off great. I made great food, we had lots to drink, good music and great friends. However, when the ball dropped, all hell broke loose.

My Dh's cousin took a bottle of champagne out of the refrigerator, shook it and sprayed it all over our tv, walls and pictures in the hallway. Then he takes out my wedding flute and breaks it in the sink. He then gets into a fight because he's mad at my DH for some reason ( I was in the bedroom, trying to put my son to sleep) and it escalated to a bigger fight. His cousin said, you know when I came over, stuff like this was going to happen.

They took it out to the hallway and then downstairs where I can use the "listen" option on my intercom and heard the whole story. He says that he knows how we feel about him because he's read the website.

Girls, the only website that I'm on is this one and if anyone remembers my drama a long time ago, you know who was involved with my drama.

So now I have a 3rd party telling her cousin to read this website about me. The only thing I ever said about his cousins AND I WILL SAY IT AGAIN...was that they stay over too late and scream while they are playing video games, waking my son up...what does that tell him?

I just finished wiping the champagne off my walls in my apartment. I'm extremely pi$$ed and cannot believe that this is continuing.

Sorry for the long vent...I'm sure you'll all read this in the morning. I hope you all had a happy new year!

That stinks. You know if people are going to intrude in your life and search out things that you say then they should be prepared to hear them. BOOOO to your DH's cousin!!!!

Re: My Wonderful New Years (really long)

awww sweetie- I'm so sorry you had to deal with this. The mess (ESPECIALLY the toasting flute) was soooooo unnecessary and incredibly immature of him to do.

I hope the rest of your 2006 is nothing like the first hours - you have a wonderful husband (that stood up to his cousin for you!), a warm home, the most BEAUTIFUL child, and a ton of friends here that wish we could hug you through the computer screen.

I'm so sorry your new year didn't start out the way it should've. Consider today a new day. I agree with Shorty...you have a great husband and beautiful sonChat Icon Chat Icon

And to the person reading this, please feel free to tell DH's cousin that not only does he owe her a huge apology but new champagne flutes as well. The ones he broke were irreplaceable - he's lucky he doesn't have to pay for a do over of the wedding.Chat Icon

That is absolutely horrible! I am sorry you had to go through thatChat Icon Especially with a baby in the house! This person needs to GROW UP!!!!
In regard to people reading your postings, I changed my screenname for that specific reason. You might want to do that only bc there may be other topics you speak about that you dont want this person to know.
In addition if anyone spilled champagne all over my walls, screamed all over my house, and broke my flutes from my wedding...Id break their head. So this persons was kind of lucky that you both were civil and let them off the hook.

Re: My Wonderful New Years (really long)

this is absurd. do these people have nothing else better to do then spy on you? obviously he has some issues and seems to be very immature and insecure.

did he and DH ever have a close relationship? maybe he is jealous of the fact that his cousin is married and has a beautiful son. it could be that he is unhappy w/ his own life and feels the need to take his anger out on others. i am sure that your son receives most of the attention now and maybe he is envious of that.

of course it is no excuse for his immature and selfish behavior, just trying to rationalize the situation.

I am sorry to hear you have to deal with this. Just know this is NOT your fault- DH's cousin is wrong for his behavior. And whoever is telling him what you post on here really needs to mind their own business! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Wow what a nice way to start of the new year. Chat Icon I'm so sorry your DH's cousin behaved like a child and ruined things. I soooo agree with Barbara - not only does he owe you both an apology, he owes you new toasting flutes.

And really, if this person has nothing better to do than check up on you and what you are posting and then using it to start family drama, they obviously have too much free time and not enough going on in their own life. Also, if you are going to read, at least be prepared to handle what is being said.

I'm so sorry Stefanie! You shouldn't have to deal with this crap. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Who acts like that as a guest in someone's home?????? I would have been so pi$$ed. You have every right to be upset. DH's cousin sounds like a toxic person and you and your DH would be better off without him in your lives. JMO.
