We Lost Half our Home As Many of You Know...
Last Tuesday we lost half of or home due to a tree uprooting and falling into the house! We are now renting a home after living in a hotel for a few days...now my dad is ill and I have to fly to Florida to be of assistance, as he is alone.
Now, I took off 3 day last week b/c of the tree issue, and could have used another day. DH took off 2 days, he works for a contractor, and the contractor is going to do the re-building--which equates to $$$ in his bosses pocket for our loss. Now today I find out that DH was actually docked for those 2 days----well, after finding out he was docked, I told him to find another contractor to do the re-building. This is crazy! I understand that this contractor is a small company, but 2 days -plus thinking he is doing the rebuilding!

I am soooo sorry about your home And also your Dad.. 
I do agree that it was pretty damn crummy of your DH's job to act that way - esp. since you were going to give them the business in fixing your house W T F

It sounds like this guy is a real d!ck who's trying to take advantage of a bad situation. Your DH should tell him he doesn't want to mix theri business relationship and find a new contractor.

I have to agree with your thinking that now you should give the business to another contractor. That is just so messed up to do to your DH when you are giving him more business!
