Re: How do you POLITELY tell people ...
I must say no one that I didn't know ever touched my belly! It is quite rude for people to do that!
And I have a cute none pregnancy tee shirt that says "For Good Luck Rub My Belly with a Buddha on it that I have worn a few times.

Re: How do you POLITELY tell people ...
People usually ask if its OK and I cant say no. My MIL doesnt ask, she just starts making the sign of the cross on my belly. She is insane, she isnt even religious so why she feels the need to "bless" my belly as she calls it, is beyond me.

Re: How do you POLITELY tell people ...
I can't believe people really do that! I NEVER touch a pregnant person's belly and I'll only ask if the baby kicks or something. Is that bad too?

Re: How do you POLITELY tell people ...
I get this all the time. Some people do ask and you can't say no, but others just reach out and touch you. I have never done this, I don't get how people can just do it. The worst is when they use both hands to cup the belly...UGH!

Re: How do you POLITELY tell people ...
I had a coworker that would come up to me everyday and put both of her hands on my belly and stand there just waiting for the baby to move. She'd say come on baby kick and just keep waiting and waiting until I'd say ummm he's not moving now. And under my breath I'd be saying now LEAVE ME ALONE!
I've never had a stranger touch my belly though. That would be weird! Who does that?

Re: How do you POLITELY tell people ...
Are these people you know.....
I feel so bad now I used to do this to my best friend. But I was also afraid to touch her belly when I did thinking I was going to be hurting the baby if I pressed too hard or I would be putting a dent in the baby's head or something. I know I am weird.
My photographer actually got a picture of my hands on her belly from the wedding. It's a classy preggo pic but I had no idea he did that.

Re: How do you POLITELY tell people ...
I touch my friends belly- but i always ask first. I never thought she would mind. I didnt mind when people touched my belly. I can see everyone not wanting strangers to touch-who the heck would do that? But do you mind when friends or family want to give a rub?

Re: How do you POLITELY tell people ...
Except for my next door neighbor- who I used to be very close to when I was younger, no one has touched my belly but my friends. Then again- it has been big in winter when I am wearing a coat.

I think with a friend or family member it's ok! It's strangers or people you don't know well I find it out of place! No one I didn't know touched mine, thank God, just family and friends
