PVC VINYL FENCE

We are looking to finally put up a fence. If you've had it professionally done who did you use? And would you recommend them? TIA!

So far we've look at:
Roberts Fence
Port Jefferson Fence
Consumers Fence
Pipeline Fence
Suffolk Fence

Re: PVC VINYL FENCE

We used Rose Fence last year and they were awesome. They came in about $1000 less than another comparable-sized company and we were very pleased. I know a few other people who were very happy with them as well.

Re: PVC VINYL FENCE

I am having one done this tuesday! by Rose Fence. DH got a lot of estimates and Rose was the cheapest and my neighbors used them too and we always hear good things about them.

We used Precision Fence - the cost for one side was spilt with our neighbor - I'll try to find the receipt.

We were really happy with their work.

Re: PVC VINYL FENCE

Two of my neighbors used:

Wayne's Quality Fence

We are also going to be fencing in one side of our yard with PVC - other two sides have been done by neighbors. I haven't called them yet, but their web site gives a lot of nice examples.

Re: PVC VINYL FENCE

We used Carl's Fence last year when we bought the house. They were the cheapest for us and many people we know used them.

Any way you see it PVC is very expensive so whoever ever is the cheapest go with them...

Re: PVC VINYL FENCE

we went with Liberty fence and got an awesome price! They guarenteed the fence and parts for 10 years! Our neighbor used Roses fence 5 years ago and has so many problems with them. They told him and wrote on the front of his contract that the fence is guarenteed for 15 years. He called them 3 years later for a problem and they told him SORRY! I'ts not guarenteed! Chat Icon They are getting away with it b/c printed on the back of the contract it states that any handwritten changes to the contract (which is printed on the back) is null and void. Watch out for this!

Re: PVC VINYL FENCE

We just used Robert's fence company- but it was for stockade. I know their PVC estimate was about $500 less than craftsman, above all, and another company we got estimates from. They were quick about setting it up, the installation took all day with two guys on our small yard.

Thanks for all of these places - when we start shopping (in a couple of weeks), I'll be sure to contact these places.

Re: PVC VINYL FENCE

We used North Shore Fence and they weren't that cheap. There's a place on Sunrise Highway (over by the old Grumman place in Islip, I think it's South Shore Fence) that seemed alot more reasonable.

That's who we used. We got a quote from Rose (heard they were the least expensive around) and they were so busy that their first available date was about 6 weeks from the date of the price quote, so we asked around and were referred by a few neighbors to give South Shore a call. I'm happy we did. Not only were they less expensive than Rose, but they were able to do it within days after and it was amazing how quick they were. They were literally in and out and I live on a pretty big lot too.

Re: PVC VINYL FENCE

Since someone brought up this subject, we've been curious for sometime how much this runs? Can you give me an idea? Do they price it by the square foot?

Re: PVC VINYL FENCE

They gave us total numbers for our BACK whole yard (our property is just over 1/4 acre but only fencing back) PLUS two gates. We divided that by total number of feet to get about $25 a foot! Its EXPENSIVE!!!

Re: PVC VINYL FENCE

Make sure you check out the quality of the fence they are using not all vinyl fence is the same. Ask what fence company they are using....
the companys that you have looked at do they make the fence or just put it up?

Well we are going with consumers, they are putting in the fence on Wednesday!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

They had by far the best deal (they beat all the other estimates plus are giving us a free arbor and upgraded the gates to the larger ones)!!!

ETA: I will update once its all done as to how things went. Im hoping it all goes smooth!!

Re: PVC VINYL FENCE

Consumers Fence did a great job!!!!! They installed promptly and were done in 1 1/2 days.

I just had to come back to edit this since I gave them nothing but kudos on the INSTALLATION! But how their customer service/repairs STINK!!!

Last time we had high winds, a section of fence starting falling down (even though the salesmen SWORE to me their fences just dont "fall down" trying to sell it to me). We called immediately and they said they would come fix it. (my husband also noticed that the gate posts weren't actually cemented like they claimed they would bee too). And it falling down - well this wasnt the first time. It was the 2nd time. Its been THREE weeks and with 1 call a week in they STILL HAVENT BEEN HERE TO FIX IT.

3/26/2006 They FINALLY came to fix it almost a month after our 1st call but they only "temporarily" fixed it and still havent come back to permanently fix it and its been over another month! We are NOT happy with them right now!!!

4/29/2006 had to move rest of comments to additional post since I ran out of room

DONT USE CONSUMERS FENCE!!!

Re: PVC VINYL FENCE

We just got an estimate from Amendola's Fence Co. for almost 6K and the yard is small! I was shocked, needless to say we are scheduling more estimates before we decide, but am wondering if that number sounds crazy to anyone or is it just me?

we added up the number of feet on the est. and divided the price...it came out to about $25 a foot, thats w/ the gates included in the price. This was our average. I think at consumers we wound up paying about $23/ft.
