I am going to do it tomorrow: I'm quitting UPDATED: I did it!!!
I wanted to do it over email, but DH convinced me to do it professionally and in-person. I am nervous. I don't want to deal with the mental manipulation that my boss is sure to pull on me.
Bottom line: I'm not happy and never will be at this job. My commute is 2 hours each way into the city and I am slowly killing myself. The only way I'm going to get a new job is by quitting, so that I can have the time to look for a new job!
Anyway, I have conflicting feelings. I've been crying all day..I feel guilty, happy, and I also feel like a failure for not sticking it out longer.
Thanks for all your support - just thought I would give an update!
Just did it. She was NOT happy. Last day will be tomorrow. She actually said that she hopes our paths cross again b/c she thinks I am great...so at least I didn't burn the bridge.

IMO, you shouldn't feel like a failure for not sticking it out longer. If you know it's not right for you, you know it's not right.
I worked at a job last year at a college for four days - lol. I was miserable and I knew I'd always be. But, I was also mislead in what the position entailed, hours, etc.

I also knew right away that it wasn't the job for me. I keep staying to please DH and my parents...it's hard for me to realize that sometimes you have to go with your gut and do what feels right....I just hope I'm brave enough to do it tomorrow. My boss is in meetings all day, so it is literally going to be me pulling her out of a meeting to tell her...

No, not giving 2 weeks. Part of my realization is that I don't care enough to give 2 weeks. I'm not a career person per se, so I don't need to depend on this reference....I will be a SAHM eventually. I am just so emotional lately (just off BC, etc.), so I'm hoping I can just keep my composure..LOL

I really think you are doing the right thing. My commute from Jersey is 1 1/2 hours right now and I always say it's slowly killing me. So, I am in the process of looking for a new position closer to home.
I also think that if you are not happy at work, then it'll only affect your relationship at home. You aren't a failure for realizing the truth.

Thanks, Lisa. That is another thing...DH sees me crying every day and I just want him to see me happy. I hope that I can find something closer to home and more satisfying.
