I bought my ex fiance and my husband both systems for their car (back in the day when the bass boxes were HUGE, I got them tubes, etc.).
I got the ex-fiance a pair of glasses that he desperately needed and a car (albeit it was an 82 something or other back in 1991

I bought him lessons at a Nascar driving school. He had no idea they even existed so he was so excited. It was really fun to watch him do it.

I thought it was cool and my ex loved it...
an official autograph framed picture of Michael Jordan with authenticity card (sp) - he loved it...couldn't stop looking at it...I thought it was ok - cost me enough though

Of all the gifts I have given my DH the one thing he loves the most are the (audi) all-weather mats I got him. The boy loves a super clean car

he has these collectible military figures he's only bought for himself so I got him one a few Christmas' ago...he friggin loved that (such a geek.)
5.11 tactical dress coat-lots of ews and ahs from him.
