That is so sad....some people do not deserve to have children!!
My thoughts exactly. That comment and the others that will follow will cost her $$$$ in therapy for that child in a few years

thats so awful.... I remember seein a Dr. Phil show about that... how parents would favor one child over the other, and how it destroyed the child who was being emotinally neglected.

Sounds like a typical visit to my Grandma's house!!!

Why don't I own a home? Well Grandma, we have a condo! That's not a home!!
Why did he marry me...I need an attitude adjustment and have to learn to clean up after myself!!
 She wonders why I need a Xanax before I got to visit her!! Hmmm I dunno why?!!
If I ever paid attention to anything she said....I would weigh 90lbs and live in a mansion in the Hamptons or Sands Point that I could not afford, just to please her!

if i had the nerve id probably tell her that it is not in good manners to verbally harass her daughter in public- to my parents my sister was considered smarter and me prettier, it drove us both nuts

I would have told the other girl when I was leaving that she was beautiful and then given the mother a nasty look!!
Same here, I probably would have also purchased a bottled water and handed it to the mother and said "this is for your thirsty daughter!"

I was in the bagel shop this morning on my way to work and there was a woman standing behind me with her two little girls.
The younger of the two told her mother she was thirsty, and the mother said "oh, cry me a river why don't you?"
Then the mother was talking to the older girl (the girls looked to be around 7 and 4 or 5). And she said "You're so pretty, how did you get all the pretty in the world? But thank you for sharing at least a little of it with your sister"
I thought that was soooooooo mean! My mother used to do things like that to me when we were all growing up, and I grew up with such a low self esteem.
It was very clear which daughter the mother favored.

ANd she'll wonder why theother daughter needs therapy in years to come....that is horrible! SOME people should not be allowed to have children!
I was constantly told that I was fat when I was younger by my father and that has stayed with me all of this time...things like that never go away..that poor girl
