My DD has to get a sweat test this morning...(UPDATED 6/27 @ 5:30PM)
I am a little worried. I am pretty certain that she does not have CF. She just came back with a marker for it and I tested negative while I was preggo so DH is obviously the carrier of the CF gene. We have to get her a sweat test if her bloodwork comes back as a marker for CF, the state mandates it and the doctors are 99% sure she does not have it. So today we are ruling out the 1%. I wish I did not have to go and put her through all this.
I am worried about what they will do to her. My poor DD has to dress in layers and go in to a sauna or "hot room" and sweat her arse off. Poor thing. If she starts screaming I am going to want to pull her out of that room before the test is over I just know it. Plus, we have to drive in hush hour traffic down to Westchester Medical Center and be in the testing room by 9:30AM.  Thank GOD my SIL from Hawaii is coming with me. She is very calming (she is the one who is a LMT) and I know she will calm us both down.
Has anyone else gone through this? How did your child react to the test? TIA 
UPDATE 4PM:We are back from the sweat test. DD did great and afterwards we went to Woodbury Commons to kill time. I can't call for the results until after 4:30PM. I will let all of you know how it turns out.
I was told that there is a 7% chance she could have it because they only screened me for 23 mutations of CF while I was preggo and there are over 1000 mutations. 
Thanks for all the 's and  'ers, I'll write an update after I know the results. I am not overly concerned, but still a little worried.
UPDATE 5:30PM: Gracie does not have CF!!! THANK GOD!!!! The test results were negative as the doctor, DH & I expected. I am so relived. Thanks again for all the prayers.

I just want to give you my nephew has CF- and he had to go through the sweat test as well- it is awful- but it is better to know.

My older son had to get the sweat test due to abnormalities on his newborn screening. They only started giving the parents the CF test after I had him. The sweat test he got was at Schneiders Childrens hospital and they just isolated an area of his arm with plastic - literally a 2x2 square. This was in 2002 so I dont know if they no longer give the test that way, the dressing in layers and sweating certainly doesnt sound like much fun for everyone. DId she need to go for the tet based on the state newborn screening test? They dont qualify the abnormalities so it makes it even worse, it can be such a small indication and you have to put them through it (and yourself worrying) for nothing. I hope all is well with her.

Neither of my kids had to go through it.  to you both!
I did stop a spinal tap on Maddie when she was a few weeks old. They had punctured 6+ times & failed to get a good sample. I said that's enough, grabbed her from the table & held her tight. No one was getting her away from me at that point.

My DS had two sweat tests at Schneider's done this way....good luck, I know how you feel.
