what topics are

off limits to you? i mean personally. what topic won't you post on. there is a lot that i won't discuss, only b/c i don't feel like the whole world needs to know what is going on in my life. for example, family situations or money.

thoughts?

Re: what topics are

There are many, but as a general rule, I don't get into political or religious discussions. On chat boards and IRL.

Re: what topics are

If I said the things I wont post on, people would speculate that I have problems in those areas anyway. So I plead the 5th.

I don't usually answer sex questions, especially the TMI ones. I would just rather keep those things private.

Re: what topics are

i won't talk about on here:

my sex life (I've answered general questions, but nothing in detail at all. It's just not for me)

Heavy-duty religious issues

My finances/how much I paid for my home/mortgage.

Abortion

Sadly, yes.

And honestly, I find that I will invariably pi$$ at least ONE person on these boards off with any response or opinion on any particular topic. In some ways, a person simply cannot state an opinion without it becoming a great debate and frankly, I don't like debate.

As a general rule, I wont post anything I'm not comfortable discussing with my own friends. Does that make sense?

Politics and sports... not because I dont want my feelings known. More because I have zero interest.

makes perfect sense to me. i can see how if you won't tell someone you've known for a good while, why would you discuss with a complete stranger.

Re: what topics are

Most of the sex topics are TMI for me.

In general, it isn't always the topic, it is the direction the thread is taking. Sometimes, there are topics I might find interesting, but when I see people stating facts that are incorrect, attacking other posters and creating a lot of drama, I take a pass.....

Re: what topics are

Topics I don't mind...it is when arrogance or snobbery is the reason for a post that I mind.
