Hi Everyone- I am a little scared to post here but.(UPDATEON BOTTOM)...
here's my question:
I am pregnant ( and ecstatic ) and am going to my first OB/GYN appointment tonight.
I wrote down a list of questions re: foods to eat, drink, travel, hairdye etc. is there anything else you think I need to add?
Also , on a related topic:
I am supposed to fly out tomorrow to visit my brother and his GF in Arkansas- they bought a house. I am little nervous to do this @ only the beginning of my 5th week pregnant.
I also have to share that I am excited to be on this board- although I never thought I would get here. Hi everyone

I flew to Montreal at 5 1/2 weeks for business and continued to fly until about 30 weeks when I grounded myself because I just couldn't get comfortable anymore...
I am sure you'll be fine

Congrats!!! I flew at 5 weeks and was told by both my regular Dr. and OBGYN that it was totally fine. So enjoy your trip!

Thanks for the warm welcome to this board
I look forward to spending the next 9 months here learning and sharing abiut this whole experience.
Well, this was my 1st appt pregnant to the gyno and he does NOT want me to fly @ least for my 1st trimester.
I can't dye my hair for a while or even continue my nails ( I have acrylic on top of my nails)
In the end, I feel I may look a mess but it's all worth it.
I think he took my age into consideration 35 - and the amount of time we were ttc.
Again thanks for the welcome- I look forward to learning what being pregnant is all about.

I don't understand this. I'm a flight attendant and have known plenty of coworkers who flew from start to (near) finish of their pregnancies. Now, the near finish I thought was crazy (one friend flew well into her 8th month!), but I don't see how one round trip flight could possibly be harmful?
Obviously, I'm not criticizing you/ your doctor -I'm just amazed at the differences in opinions Dr's have!
