We are looking for a cleaning lady to do the "Big" stuuf that neither of us have time for. Can anyone recomment their's?????

No and no, DH and I do both. We are always trying to save for that next big project.

We have a landscaper. As soon as we can possibly afford it we will get a cleaning lady as well. I can't imagine DH or I having to cut the grass every week. We each tried it but it was just too hard. We live on a hilll and the only entrance to the backyard is over the deck. We do all the weeding, planting, and fertalizing ourselves.
Every other week we clean the house and with the two of us it takes about 4 hours.

i have a landscaper and cleaning person.

the landscaper wont be needed from dec-april so i dont mind paying him to keep our grass cut in the summer

cleaning person comes every other friday.

just kidding. for big landscaping jobs we have had professionals come in but for routine stuff we do it ourselves.

we have a landscaper and searching for a cleaning lady. In our opinon it is so worth the money- you work and then who wants to spend their free time- of which isnt much these days when you work fulltime to clean or do the lawn?????


Life is too short, we want to spend those free hours together quality time and also to do the things we want to do too. Its really not that expensive.

We had a landscaper for the past 2 years and then this year we decided to forego it. I wish that they still came but am glad to no be putting out the $. I never had a cleaning person but I wish I did. Once I go back to work, I think I will splurge.

We have a cleaning lady come in every two weeks. $60 per cleaning but well worth it!

When we ever get to owning our own home...no we won't have either. I grew up in a HUGE house with 3.5 acres of lawn...we did it then...we'll do it now.

We have both a cleaning lady and landscaper. So worth it for us.

We have both a landscaper and a cleaning service.

The landscapers come once a week just to mow and pull weeds and general maintenance. They are $90 a month...without fertilizing, chemical treatments, etc.

The cleaning service comes once every 3 weeks for thorough, ridiculous cleaning that I would NEVER have time to do myself. They charge me $80 which includes throrough cleaning of 2 full baths, 3 bedrooms, LR, DR, Fam Rm, Kit, Hallway. This includes cleaning all mouldings, windows, floors, changing sheets, cleaning UNDER furniture, etc.

Both of these services are a must in this house. It's so funny because they both come on Wednesdays. There's cleaning inside and sprucing outside. I like to pretend I'm rich on Wednesdays!

No cleaning lady but a landscaper...we were probalby in the house a week when I told my DH to go to the landscaper that was cutting the neighbors lawn. Best $30/week we spend. My husband works long hours and on Saturdays so it is nice that he doesn't have to do that too. Also we did alot of work in the backyard ourselves this summer so it was nice to have someone else cutting our grass or I wouldn't see him. NO cleaning lady--since my DH works on Saturdays I use that day to clean.

my parents have both a landscaper and a cleaning lady.
the cleaning lady is 50 every two weeks and she cleans the about 7 rooms.
the landscapes comes once a week, but i don't remember what the bill said.

We will get a landscaper to deal with mowing and hedging but DH will deal with everything else. No cleaning lady - ever. I am way too anal about cleaning and I can't deal with paying so much just to have them come in every other week - my place gets cleaned every day if possible so I can't imagine what it would look like every other week. I clean a room each night and usually spend a few hours early on Saturday with a good once over. I've yet to be impressed with any of the cleaning people that my friends use. JMO

I am the cleaning lady, my husband is the landscaper (although I am becoming quite a gardener). We are both teachers so we have spare time in the summer when the most outdoor work needs to be done, and I am an anal cleaner so I don't foresee myself wanting a cleaning lady.

we have landscapers but no cleaning lady. we did until I stopped working - when I go back, we will again. If you are working, it only makes sense!

We don't have a huge yard - but it was taking DH hourson the weekend to keep up and it wasn't worth it. For $20/week - we found it worth it...but of course that is more because of sprays, cleanpus, other maintenance....

Cleaning lady - every other week and love it!!!!! I never thought I could let someone clean my house but I love it and spoiled by it now. Of course they will never do the job you can do - but who has that kind of time to do it that well...I was spending my entire weekends cleaning and still couldn't keep up. I am home when they come..but once I got comfy with my person I would leave them alone but not share a key. I'd run errands or take my son to the park or for a walk when they are there. I have been quoted anywhere from $60 (rare) to $105 to clean my house - 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, etc. Finding a private person is key for cheaper price and I found better service than a company run place.

No house yet - but when we do we are goign to do it ourselves.

im sure once we have kids (and hopefully more $$) we will hire a landscaper. I can't see myself letting someone else clean my house.

We have a landscaper and NEED IT! DH is deficient in gardening, mowing, anything lawn related and after getting a "warning" from the HOA for not edging (DH broke the lawnmower! ) we finally buckled. Best money ever spent!!

We do have a cleaning lady...her name is Sasha!
