I did...It was for our Friend Cathy...and since DH was the Best Man at the wedding...I thought it would be poor taste not to go. I ended up meeting some really nice people there...and I'm very happy I went.

I wouldn't. I did it once and i was extremely uncomfortable. I am pretty outgoing, but apparently no one at this shower was so i sat for 4 hours and never spoke a word or was spoken to! However, this girl was a marrying my guy friend and was not a close friend of mine. I now usually send a gift but don't go.

I have gone to a baby shower where I was sitting at the table with with the girl's husbands sisters and did not know any of them. At the end of the shower it was like I had been friends with them for years.
Another friend of mine for her bridal shower I only knew her and by the time her baby shower was around I was calling up other people to find out who was going.
You meet some new people and ya never know it is a small world.
