FYI - For those that were worried about the golden from Manorville-Update w/link
I just wanted those that were afraid for the golden, Jesse, that was brought to the Brookhaven shelter after that terrible accident, that I contacted Long Island Golden Retriever Rescue and they are trying to get the dog from the shelter. This is excellent news because LIGRR will be able to foster the dog in a home and find the family best suited for him.
ETA: Here is the website for anyone that is interested in volunteering, adopting or donating.

Oh, thank you so much for doing that. I was really worried about that dog. I think it was just playing. Goldens are such mushes... I mean a dog is still an animal and is capable of anything... but really, we are talking about a Golden here and not a dog bred to be viscious.
My Golden has never barked never mind been aggressive.
At the same time, I can only imagine what that poor girl's family is going through.
 for all involved.

I think they mentioned something on News 12 this morning about the dog being taken from the shelter but I didn't hear exactly what they said.

OMG thank you so much for this info!!!!! I obvoiusly feel terribly for this poor family but my heart was also breaking for this poor golden who is in a strange place and probably so scared! what a horrible situation all the way around for everyone involved!

I see that there are 7 dogs available. OK, now I want to adopt all 7 of them, quit my job and be a SAHM to all of the Goldens.
Only thing stopping me is DH and my need for a paycheck.
Oh, I am in love with all of them

I think that may be a different Jesse. That Jesse is (I think) 9 years old. Jesse from the news is 18 months old.
No th at is not him too old, but I have to wonder if they will use his real name for the fact that someone just may want the dog that "killed" someone I know it sounds terrible but there are sick people out there and this poor dog may get abused. I pray for him, poor thing. and the family of course.
