how much do you pay for homeowners insurance?
Geez...I didn't think it would vary so much....some places were hundreds of dollars more. We just got our lowest quote from state farm...$908 for the year.

we use to have state farm for $924/yr & just switched to MetLife for $808/year

it depends on your home... You have to cover the amount it would cost to rebuild it god forbid there was a fire, etc... Some people have bigger homes than others, different deductibles etc...
we are paying 937/year.

I did- I got a quote from Travelers (Geico) for $2100 (I mistakenly told them fuse boxes, not circuit breakers), $850 from State Farm and finally $560 from Met Life, who we obviously went with.

Working in insurance and Im not saying who....u have to understand that HO policies price will vary due to what the amt of ur replacement value is on ur home. That is the amt that it would take to rebuild ur home...the structure, in case of a loss. The number really doesnt make sense to many since we are paying HIGH prices for out house but its the land we are paying for as well.
Anyways....prices will vary from of course every company and even ur next door neighbor. Just make sure you are properly covered and go w/a reputable company who will take care of you the right way in case of a loss.

Wow- that is a lot! My folks are in Levittown and I think theirs is about $800 or so.

think we were told something similar. just had auto ins. w/ them for a few months. We picked up state farm and then a few months later switched w/ Allstate.

My wife just totalled a brand new Jeep that Geico is "forgiving us" and not raising our premiums.
Changing car insurance companies is simply... not an option.

YA you know what dont use allstate. My parents had a flood in their house. A hot water pipe broke in the ceiling and ran all day. My mom came home from work to find the windows all fogged up. The electric bill was nuts so was the oil bill since the hot water was running all day. The have allstate and an adjuster came and gave them CRAP. They lost everything on the first floor. EVERYTHING! Every piece of carpeting the laminate wood floor Cabinets appliances you name it it was gone. They gave them like 300.00 to paint the downstairs 50.00 to replace ALL the carpet (which was 6 months old they replaced it right before my wedding and this happened in December) they still dont have carpeting or any floors they are fighting with allstate! The adjuster tole my parents he wouldnt pay for a sink or a faucet since they are made to get wet. They gave them some stupid price of like 400.00 for cabinets
