Our first horrible experience as parents
Wed morning we woke up, our whole house was filled with smoke. The oil burner backed up and the carbon monoxide levels were so high- as soon as we saw the smoke I took Katie outside but we had to take her to the emergency room. They took blood from her wrist and arm, did chest xrays, and she had to wear an oxygen mask.
She screamed the whole time, it broke my heart. It was truly awful. Especially thinking about what could have happened. Thank goodness we are all okay.
We had to go stay at a hotel for 3 nights but we are finally home.

Oh my!!! I know how scary that is- when I was preggo we had a fire- we lost part of our co-op and had to stay in a hotel for a week and a temp unit for 8 months we just moved home recently.

OMG Steph - how scary - how could I not have heard about this - I am so sorry - what a terrible experience, you must have been so scared!!! Do you have carbon monoxide detectors??? I am soooo glad you are all ok!

We don't know why they didn't go off, but we are having them all professionally installed and monitered now.
