I love Target
but getting stuff like detergent, shamppoo, soap, it's so much cheap in Walmart.
Again as other people have pointed ut, the Walmart's outside LI are so much cleaner and nice.

I remember DH and I seeing a t-shirt that read "Wal-Mart: Your Source for Cheap Plastic ****!"
Before I knew what I know now about the company I had been to a couple in VA and upstate NY. They are very nice. I went to the one in Uniondale years ago and it was gross. Other ones look more like Target- brighter and cleaner.

I agree although for me it's not union, its the environment, the memo about handicapped and elderly people and all the other shady things they do. I think they are probably the worst out of all the super stores in America.
ETA I forgot to add censoring music!
I agree, for me it's about many things. I just don't like many of their practices in general and choose not to shop there.
To be fair, though, the stores I have been to in California were very clean and nice to shop in.

I'm all for a great deal but I don't shop at Walmart b/c I don't like the idea of supporting such a corrupt corporation. Their policies are horrendous and the way they plow into a town and bully companies to lower their prices - putting them into bankruptcy - is disgusting.

Same here. Also, the few times I have been with someone else in a Walmart on LI, I have found them to be dirtier and less staffed than Target.

I agree. We always stop at Walmart when we visit my Grandparents in Florida.

I dread going to Walmart because it is so crowded and for the most part gross, but they have great prices on cleaning supplies and dog treats.

I prefer Target bc it's usually less hectic.
I refuse to go to any Wal-Mart in Chicago. Ive found that most wal-marts in urban areas are not organized very well and usually VERY crowded. Now down south it was a totally different experience. If there were like that in the city, then I would probably go more often.

I agree.
They also have a lot to do with the trade deficit with China- Most of their stuff is from China- in order for them to get those "every day low prices"= they pretty much FORCE their suppliers to manufacture in locations with cheaper wages like China.
One of my life goals is to never EVER give them a dollar of my money.

I went to a Wal-Mart today (Islandia location) b/c they have inexpensive sheets for my massage table, but it smelled so bad in there- like cheap rubber shoes or something, you know what I'm talking about?!

I used to not like Walmart, but now that I live close to two of them, I find myself liking the store more and more. They have everything there, it is like a one stop trip when you need a variety of things I like Target also, Walmart is cheaper than Target, and I don't see a difference in Cleanliness or Shortness of lines between the two.

I'm kind of dependant on Wal-Mart being that I live in a rural area... so I'm not a big fan right now.
Once we move next year, I doubt we'll go too often.

I LOVE Walmart. IMO you cant compare it to Target. I also love Target but if I had a long list of toiletries and various things I needed to get I know my dollar will go further in Wal Mart.
Exactly.
I loved the WalMart supercenter in Binghamton. We did a lot of grocery shopping there, and the prices were great!

If you ever want to venture really, really north, the Target in Bethel, Ct is quite nice and the people who work there are mostly helpful. There is also one in Mt. Kisco, I haven't been there yet.
