Thank you all..ITs been a little weird...
I had a lot of resentment towards my Dad recently because of this.
My Dad and I didnt talk ( he left) for YEARS and yet I saw his Mom ( my grandmother ) often...Wellw hen I was about 9 yrs old, she called my Mom and said I had not thanked her for that years B-day gift yet and she couldnt be bothered anymore( keep in mind she had done the same thing to my half sisters a few years early, just stopped contacting them all together) ...My mom tried to explain it was HER fault I didnt send the thank you etc, I was just a kid, but truth be told, my grandmother was not all there even then...
Through the years ( once I was like 18 and older) I begged my Dad to help me get closer to her, that I had no grandparents left and I wished I could ....He didnt help at all...HE basically felt she was old and didnt want to try to "forn another relationship now" ...She was sorry and I should just take what I had as it...
I was always wondering why she didnt want a relationship like most grandparent/grandkids had...but What could I do..I tried for YEARS...
So, now the questions hit me, like I should have pushed harder, and the anger towards her and my dad kinda hit me as well...Like I was being held responsible for 20 years for a childs mistake...What did I do to be "shunned"
I have now realized she was not 100% "right" and am ok with it all..
Thats the background for those who thought it weird we were not close....

No, I didnt feel any guilt, I meant the guilt my Dad has for his part in making our relatinship strained...I think its so sad when someone dies, all the feelings that everyone feels....
