Thought provoking movies

I need some help brainstorming some thought provoking movies that would be good for college students to watch and then discuss.
Some I have in mind:
If these Walls Could Talk
Hotel Rwanda
Crash
Schindlers List
Green Mile

Re: Thought provoking movies

Mississippi Burning
Vanilla Sky (although I like the original better, but I am not sure if you would use a foreign film with subtitles).

Re: Thought provoking movies

Is there a specific topic? Or is it just for orientation or something? At my college orientation, we had to watch and discuss the Matrix. haha

I'll add to the list:
Dead Poets Society
Citizen Kane
Do the Right Thing
Jungle Fever
Pi
My Brilliant Career
Angela's Ashes
Fight Club

I would second this one.

Another great foreign one is Men with Guns (in Spanish with subtitles)

Another older one is Lorenzo's Oil

Yeah, I have heard a lot of people say that they wanted to see more about his past. While that would have been interesting IMO, the whole point of the movie was that he had left his past behind him. I appreciated that we saw only what was absolutely necessary for us to understand what was going on.
