I'd wonder why this would happen of course but I don't think it would bother me. Chat Icon

I would be furious! I don't eat a lot of things for personal reasons and would be very mad if I was served one thing but it was really another thing.

yes... aside from religious issues (I don't eat Pork), I try to be careful with what I eat. I wouldn't want to be lied to- If they were mistaken- I would be upset also, but not as much as if I were lied to.

I really would not care, but I would definately wonder why. I think that it would be pretty hard to pass of pork as beef to begin with. Chat Icon

I don't eat either but generally, I wouldn't be happy. I like to know what I am eating.

Re: If you were at a party, and were told that you were served beef, but it was really pork

Well, I'd be really upset. I dont eat pork (not for religious reasons, just personal reasons), but I eat beef. So If I thought I was eating beef, but I was really eating pork, I'd be really really upset.

I think I would be like W T F? but then just eat it and forget it. I am not a fan of party food anyway.

Re: If you were at a party, and were told that you were served beef, but it was really pork

I would think that the waiter made a mistake and either have them take it back and give me the to give me the beef I requested, ask for something else entirely, or just not eat (and probably complain to DH that I was starving Chat Icon). I HATE pork.

pork haters- do you hate the taste, the look, or just in general hate that you are eating pork?

I have such bad taste buds, I don't even know how to describe the taste. I will eat anything as long as it isn't fatty.

I've always hated ham (think that comes from childhood - cheapest deli meat that's actual meat (and not parts Chat Icon).

Then in 9th grade I had to disect a fetal pig.

End of pork for me!! The only 'pork' I eat is bacon. I think 'cause it doesn't look like pork maybe?

ETA: I have VERY sensitive taste buds so I may not be the prime pork-disliker example.

Re: If you were at a party, and were told that you were served beef, but it was really pork

Like I love Boar's Head ham shaved thin on a sandwich, it is so good. But if a pork chop is fatty I won't touch it.

ETA: I also think pork is scary to cook, and at a party, might not take it, for fear of food poisioning.

Re: If you were at a party, and were told that you were served beef, but it was really pork

If the waiter just slipped telling one person, or one table, I would be upset, but excuse it (probably switch to chicken though, since I don't eat pork).

If they purposely lied, I believe that's illegal. They had a 20/20 expose about restaurants even passing off different cuts of beef as what they told customers it was, and they were arrested and fined.
