How Do You All Feel About Eating Alone

In a restaurant. Do you have pet peved about that? DH makes fun of me because I refuse to eat out in a restaurant or fast food place alone. I don't know where to look or what do. I refuse to do it. Anyone else or is it just me?

I can eat alone at fast food places... but I can't go to like Applebees and eat by myself.

I do it if I'm hungry and I'm alone...I don't feel too uncomfortable as I find myself alone quite abit now my kids are older

I never had to but if I did, I'd just bring a book so I wouldn't be looking around at everyone.

To go and sit at a restaurant by myself - nope, I just cannot do that. When I used to travel for work and I was dining solo, I would always order room service.. !


If its a deli or fast food type of place on a lunch hour though, then yes, I can eat alone (I usually take a magazine or book with me to look less lonely )

I have done it many times. there is absolutely nothing wrong with it!

I used to have a hard time with it but I got over it when I worked and didn't have anyone to eat with.

I can't eat alone at any place in public, I don't know why but it's just something I can't do.

I used to do it often when I worked in the city but only for lunch....it was kind of ok to do it because who has time to sit and chat and eat with other people BUT now that I don't work in NYC no way....I would feel embarrased.

I always feel bad for people who are eating alone.....especially eating dinner alone

I do it all the time. I go to work alone to get away from my co-workers mostly...and I eat by myself. I actually enjoy the *me* time.

When I get hungry I also get b!tchy real fast. I don't care if I am alone, with DH or Dale Jr...I am still going to eat.

i will go to fast food places by myself. i also will go out for sushi and sit at the bar by myself. i dont mind doing it at all as long as i have something to read. if i dont have anything to read i just feel wierd.

Although I don't mind eating alone, I've never gone to anything other then a fast food type place alone. I might not love eating by myself at a restaurant where you are seated and served. But then again, if I just want to be alone and read or have work to do - it may not be too bad.

I can do it in a fast food or deli type place but not in a sit down restaurant.

I know my dad has gone to restaurants alone because my stepmom didnt want to eat at that paticular place. That makes me very sad for some reason.

I have no problem with it, but generally would not eat alone in a very upscale restaurant. It would seem like a waste not to share that with someone else and a little odd to pull out a book or a magazine to keep me company.
