i am not having a baby but lately i am constantly surrounded by negative people at work and it was starting to affect me. We dont have a contract in our district- and I work on LI... we havent had one for a year and a half and it has taken its toll on the staff... we have gone to non binding arbitration.....i just remind myself to stay positive for my students sake and I try not to bring too much of it home!!!Lots of hugs to you!

Good for you for making this decision. It really is sooo easy to get sucked into the negativity. And great job with talking to the kids, you did a wonderful thing You are going to make the BEST Mommy to Ava

So Wednesday's update....the head of my school happened to pop into my first period class for an unannounced observation, and let me just tell you, it was the first time I was actually HAPPY to get observed. I feel so much more alive the last two days. I had a notoriously wild class in my room for music, however, I got them up and singing and into what we were doing, and after class, the head of the school pulled me aside and told me he was so impressed with how positive I was with the kids and how well they responded. He said it was the most he's seen a teacher smile and enjoy themselves all year
I am completely amazed at what a difference in your outlook on life can make. I also made sure to leave a note for one wonderful friends at work thanking her for being a positive person, even when it's so hard to be.
I just feel so much better! Thank you all again, everytime I read through this thread, I feel good knowing there are other people out there who appreciate the positives, too

I have to say, because of this thread and the terrible news about Janet/Keith...I have caught myself so many times just within the past 2 days turning negative feelings/comments into positives. Life is too short.
So, you should feel positive by knowing that you made at least me, and I'm sure many others re-think their actions.
