this is my problem with this - i'm sure the family knew going into all this, that the house they were going to be moving into would be a lot bigger and much more $$ each month. if they knew this and knew they could not afford it, why not turn down EHM?? let someone else who needs it, get it. i understand this family needed it also, but why not just work out the job/travel issues??

Pics of house 1 & 1/2 months after it was completed, notice plastic etc...still on windows & doors :(

That is awful!! How could they do that after all the work put into it and that one special room, that they worked so hard on to fill with memories of their daughter. For me, that room alone would make me never sell that house. Those children had a place to "visit" with their mother and they are taking it all away, all the amazing things they built in that house for the kids. That is so wrong!!

I used to work with a woman who was sick in thehospital, we all chipped in and got her some nightgowns and things she could wear in the hospital.
Unfortunately she passed away but her daughter returned these items to buy things for herself! I thought, at least go to another store and return it, or donate it to someone. (They were not hurting for money)

i cant believe this, if i remember correctly not only was the home paid for, but the also used solar panels and those wind things to cut down on electrial use. Their bill could not have been that high, that they needed to return everything and sell the house. I wonder maybe they wanted to live on the reservation with the rest of the tribe.

How far away did they build the new house? (I didn't watch this whole episode) I realize they signed up for the makeover, or at the very least knew about it, but I am willing to bet they were not expecting to be moved away from their reservation.

i think thats a really good point!!! I dont know- i understand that there are Tons of people who would love to be on this show and have that done for them (and who rightly deserve it as well)... but i think its a little harsh (JMHO) to say that they are horrible people b/c the house didnt make their life a dream. And especially if it had to do with moving to be closer to their friends/family/ tribe- well, who wouldnt want to be near those that are close to you after you've already lost so much. I dont know what theyre using that money for, but who am i to judge. They lost their daughter in such a horrible way, and maybe the house was just a constant reminder of that; or maybe it was that much harder being away from their 'support system'... either way- maybe if the house didnt do it for them, maybe as a result of selling the house or whatever, theyll be able to do something with the money that Will bring them more peace of mind- then, imo, EHM still accomplished its goal, no? 
i dont know.. i just feel bad. yes, the house/ land is amazing- but if it doesnt make them happy, then what good is it? I wouldnt wish what they went through on Anyone, so i kinda feel like theyre entitled to do as they choose with all that theyve already been through

I agree. Part of giving is letting it go. I mean, no one wants to be taken advantage of, but if selling the home will help the family be in a stable financial situation, isn't that the goal anyway?
ETA: the more I think about it, the more I agree they should have said something when they realized it was too far away or otherwise not right for them.
