Both of my cousins were born there with complications--one of them premature. One of the nurses kept sneaking me into the neonatal unit to see him even thought I wasn't one of the allowed family members in there (they limited it to only 4, or something like that). They were great and my cousins are both big and healthy today.

I will be delivering in Winthrop. I delivered my son there also July 05 and it was a great experience.

I guess Im the lone ranger out east.  Right now Im scheduled to deliver at Southampton but Im considering switching OB's and may move to St. Charles.

I live in Calverton - but plan on making the trek out to St. Catherine's in Smithtown.
That's where my doc delivers and I have been there quite a few times in my life already. A family friend works in Maternity, so I know I will be in good hands!

We go to the same Dr. and I too am praying it will be S. Nassau b/c of the new maternity wing they built, every room is a private suite now. My friend had a baby there a few weeks ago and said it is so nice!
But if our Dr is already with someone at Mercy then we will have to go there.

Aw! I wish I was!! I was born there.
I live on Staten Island, and I hope my doctor delivers at Staten Island University Hospital and not St. Vincent's. I work at a med mal firm and that hospital scares me!

nothing wrong with either, I'd just rather South Nassau. Been to both and have had friends and family deliver at both. Both good experiences but I like the idea of a private room and that its down the block from my house.
