Ok the visual of Bush doing that just made me PIMP
But you are right - its SOO SOO EASY to blame our President for this (and I'm not saying anyone here is SPECIFICALLY blaming him) but really, this is one of those situations that they PRAYED never would happen, thought they did somewhat prepare for it.. and now that it has happened, they are dealing with what they know how to do  but a lot of the things they ARE attempting to do aren't working just yet

I am not criticizing him, but it does seem to me that it has taken a while for Federal Aid.
It seemed faster in other situations, but maybe it is just the magnatude of this situation that makes it seem like that.
I just get the impression that local authorites, just don't know what to do , but this country has been through so much & has so many resources , it seems like things should be moving faster.
I'm not sure why they aren't.

IMO- Problem is a lot of people like US Coast Guard & Navy are off fighting a war. Our resources are so short and there is only so much the authorities can do. They are not trained to handle these types of catastrophes.

I have to disagree with you here. First off, to go in right away would of put his life in danger (true of anyone there). We don't need the leader of our nation walking through toxic water. Second, anywhere the president goes is a logistical nightmare and New Orleans does not need anymore of that right now.
You know I am not a Bush Lover in any sense of the word, but it bothers me that people are blaming him for acting too slow. Or blame him right away for anything that happens. On Nightly News last night they had a whole list of things that he approved of. I actually think he has been doing just fine. He did not create the storm or the disaster. And I think he is reacting fine.
However, I would agree on one point, I do think he should of cut his vacation short the day it happened.

Please remember no one is getting the full information on the situation either. We are getting our news from the media, which we ALL KNOW is sooo truthful and always reports FACTS.
I am sure the federal government is doing all it can to help these people out. New Orleans is a logistical nightmare as is the entire gulf coast area because of all the little bayou's, etc ...
Take whatever you read with a grain of salt, media outlets bank on you reacting to their sensational stories.
