Re: Pay attention to car alarms

What's HID stand for? These are halogen lights. It's already at an autobody shop now. Ended up being $335 for the light. $460 to repair the dent they made kicking the light out and repainting the hood that got all scratched up.
And, they broke the attachement off the light (it's still on the car) so they can't even reuse the light.
I'm not going through the insurance because it's only $295 more than my deductible.
So, we took it out of the "house" fund
HID stands for Hi-Intensity Discharge lights I believe Those are the super expensive type headlight (the ones that were being stolen on the Maximas).
$335 for the light is VERY cheap. I know the HIDs on my Audi are close to double that.
Sorry to hear about this. ***** hard.

Re: Pay attention to car alarms
I'm so sorry that happened to you. But I totally sympathize. We had our car vandalized twice. One time they stole both of our headlights in front of the apartment we were living in, in broad daylight (11:30am) and before that we had... are you ready for this??? Our driver's side door stolen. Can you believe that? Our friggin' DOOR! They busted the passenger's window so they could unlock the doors and then they simply snipped the wires and unbolted the door. They were even nice enough to leave the bolts for us. Thank goodness it was DH who found the car like that because I was preggo at the time and I'm pretty sure that had it been me to find the car without a door I would've had the baby.

Re: Pay attention to car alarms
I am so sorry this happened!
I can relate - we had our AIRBAGS stolen fromthe driver and passenger side - and the way the police found who did it is that the guy also stole one of DH's paychecks that he had left in the glove compartment. The theif tried to cash it at a check-cashing place, and the clerk called the police. When the police arrested him, they searched his car and found tons of airbags in the trunk.
Worse part? We couldn't get our airbags back!
