i usually do multi
but this year to switch it up I'm doing white b/c I got a really cool retro tree topper that had white lights in it.

Multi - reminds me of when I was little. DH decorates the h e l l out of the outside of our house (we single handedly support LIPA) so he picks those lights - and I get to pick the tree lights.

we put white lights buried deep in the tree and then multi-colored lights more towards the outer part of the limbs, gives it a glow

i guess all white is a more uniform, elegant look...
whereas multi is a more traditional, festive look.
it all depends on the look you're going for.
exactly.. both look so pretty, but for me personally I like the white lights and then jazz it up with the decorations and ornaments
