so I have a dr appt tomorrow and I am scared UPDATE
to show the dr how much weight I have gained. I hope they do an ultra sound to make me feel better after I am called fat

But, my doctor said he wasn't concerned, much to my surprise!

thanks for the confidence guys! I am going to walk in there with my overalls on(never thought I would love them, but it is so nice not readjusting a waist band every move I make) get on the scale and smile. I know I am not binging. maybe it just happens...

I gained 100+ lbs with my first child and 90+ with my 2nd child
This time I am 23 weeks and only up about 20lbs which is weird for me
all people are different
dont worry its all worth it in the end

dont worry its all worth it in the end
i agree! - after being called fat by my dfr and totally humiliated in a non-professionAl way for gaining, according to them 8 lbs in 2 weeks (and just getting to 25 lbs at 30 weeks) - i changed drs...and my new dr couldn't care less about my weight gain since its really the baby who matters.....
don't let it get to you - you look amazing!!

so I am back from dr. baby sounds great. the nurse saw my belly jump, she said leo will probably be able to feel kicks this week. we get a sono in 2 weeks.
so....Dr was shocked with my weight gain. He threatened csection and diabetes and high blood pressure. he suggested a nutrionist. So tomorrow I have to write everything i put in my mouth and we will see if there is a change in 2 weeks

thanks for your replies, I am not going to lose sleep over it, but I am going to try and cut down on white carbs...I eat rice almost every night, I can change to brown.

Hum...he threatened you with major surgery! You may want to consider that and if you really want this person to be your doctor. That is awful IMO.

Hum...he threatened you with major surgery! You may want to consider that and if you really want this person to be your doctor. That is awful IMO.
he threatened that a lot of weight gain can make me more likely to be a csection candidate..

My Dr did the same thing to me. He thinks he's funny, so he also added that if I continued to gain as I was, they would have to roll me into the delivery room.
I politely asked if he was married.
He says he was for 25 years but not anymore
I smiled and asked him if that was because he said things like that to her?
He never made an obnoxious comment about my weight again!

The truth is that many very overweight women are forced into c/s without medical need. Just make sure you know your rights and research the risks for yourself.

WHAT??!? Is your doc crazy?! Your weight gain is not that tremendous by any means... does he realize women actually GAIN weight during pregnancy?  I know back in the day they said you're only supposed to gain 25lbs, but since then the medical profession has realized that every woman is different and every pregnancy is different. Some gain 15lb, others gain 100lbs... as long as you're still healthy and show no signs of diabetes or high blood pressure there's no need to scare you like that! I gained 50+ lbs in my pregnancy, even gaining 8lbs in 2 weeks, and I ate VERY healthy, walked 2 miles a day, etc... it's all genetic and for him to scare you like that, hmph...
