You can do a gastointestinal massage-----I do this with my early intervention children that are constipated. You start on your lower right side a little past your hip bone and massage straight upwards to about your belly button level and then go across your stomach to your left side and then down past your hip bone----you kind of make a upside down U circular shape----FEEL BETTER!!!!!

Senakot or Milk of Magnesia. Make sure you take it at a time where you will be home for a while! For me it normally takes 9-12 hours to kick in.

If you can't devote the time to waiting for it to happen, go with a good old-fashioned enema.

If you have patience, Metamucil will work after a couple of days. You can also try eating high fiber cereals . . .

Old remedy - castor oil. It's disgusting but will clear you out completely. Of course, you can't leave home for several hours but it definitely does the trick. (Usually, anyone having a test of their intestines has to take castor oil the night before to clear themselves out - it works!)
