A School bus carrying 30 children crashed on the LIE---- Update in the first post!
Breaking News
A school bus carrying about 30 children has crashed on the Long Island Expressway near exit 37. The bus was returning to Camp Apollo in Plainview after a theater excursion in Westbury. Several of the kids were taken to the hospital, but there is no word on the extent of their injuries
Hopefully they are all ok
08/01/06) ROSLYN - A bus driver was seriously hurt and 30 children suffered minor bumps and bruises after a bus accident in Roslyn Tuesday. Police say the bus was carrying 34 kids back to Camp Apollo in Plainview after a trip to the North Fork Theater at Westbury. The accident happened in the eastbound lanes of the Long Island Expressway near exit 37. Part of the bus’ front end was torn off in the crash.
A police investigation is ongoing.

OMG 37 on the LIE? isn't that Roslyn Road/Willis Ave?? How is that on the way from Westbury to Plainview?

ty i appreciate the link and you were right it was 37...i just dont understand how that is btwn plainview and westbury BUT prayers are more important than curiosity right now.

Of course the welfare of the children is first and foremeost. As soon as I saw exit 37 I reacted the same way as I am from that area. Roslyn is nowhere near Westbury and if anything, they should have been closer to exit 40. My guess, is that the driver was lost or perhaps didnt know what he/she was doing. I hope everyone is ok though.
