Do people really wear BM dresses again?
i'm in 3 weddings next year and all three brides picked dresses that we could "wear again"
that made me think, am i really ever going to wear these dresses again? what if i wore it to another wedding and the BMs had the same dress??
so i'm wondering, how many of you have ever actually done this? what kind of dress was it?

I've never done it either, but for my friends wedding..we bought Vera Wang gowns and they were really pretty. I would def. wear that dress again as long as no one from her wedding is there..

Re: Do people really wear BM dresses again?
My bridesmaids got their dresses at Banana Republic. They are black cocktail dresses with a layer of tulle underneath. Cute. So cute, I bought it and wore it to a bunch of black tie affairs I went to. So, yes, they will definatley wear it again.

Re: Do people really wear BM dresses again?
I plan on doing it after I am in a wedding party next year. The dress is a black cocktail dress with lace and no beading. Does not look like a bridesmaid dress at all but is costing $$$$ and I LOVE it, so I will use it again.
The wedding is for my side of the family so no one on DH's side will see me in it.

Re: Do people really wear BM dresses again?
My bridesmaids all got dresses that they WOULD wear again so that they COULD wear them again, so yes. It depends on the dress. My girls didn't get BRIDESMAIDS dresses per se, just nice dresses. It allowed them the option to wear again.

Re: Do people really wear BM dresses again?
Two of my four girls wore the dress again. One wants to wear it again and is just waiting for the right occasion and one just didn't like it.
Not bad, I think.
Me on the other hand. I hated the color of the dress from my best friend's wedding (all of us did). I never found the right place to wear the dress from my brother's first wedding and thr one from his second wedding was hideous.
If I knew anyone who chose a BM's dress from Ann Taylor or JCrew, I would probably wear it again.

A guest at my wedding had on one of my bridesmaid dresses! It was a different color but I thought it looked funny.

Only a tea-length one and a black one. The other ones I donated.

Re: Do people really wear BM dresses again?
I did it once. I had the dress shortened to tea length and wore it to a 2nd wedding reception (it was given by the groom's parents upstate NY) for a different friend. I couldn't believe I got so many compliments on it!

Re: Do people really wear BM dresses again?
I doubt the girls could wear the ones from my wedding again...they were beautiful but lets face it-it was a bridesmaid gown...
The one I wore for my MOHs wedding was really pretty-but once again, I could not wear it again....so they all sit in my closet...I dont know what to do with them

my sister wore her dress from my wedding to a wedding
Same with mine...she cut it down to a tea length - it looked awesome on her!
ETA it was a fairly simple black dress...

Re: Do people really wear BM dresses again?
One of my BM had her dress made into a tea length and she wore it to a wedding. The dress was separates so I am sure that my BM could wear the top with dressy pants to an occasion as well.

Re: Do people really wear BM dresses again?
I'd consider wearing the dress I wore for my sister's wedding again, but I'd take it to a seamstress and have it shortened.
As a long dress, it def. screams bridesmaid. And it would have to be to a summer wedding, since it was a light pink bm dress.

Re: Do people really wear BM dresses again?
I never have, but one of my BMs wore the dress from my wedding to a formal company holiday party. I didn't exepct them to wear it again, I didn't even pretend, I just found something relatively inexpensive.
ETA-- I saw a lot of peopel with BM & MOB dresses at the formal night on my HM cruise.

You can donate them to http://www.glassslipperproject.org/ This organization gives them to under privileged girls to wear to their proms, its a really sweet gesture.
