Maybe...not like a keg though, thats crazy. I know my mom let me have a few beers on my 16th birthday and I drank on my 18th birthday, my mom was kinda relaxed about it, I guess because I was doing it at home and not somewhere outon the streets.
I would allow my 19-20 year old to drink..but I also think it depends on the person. If I had a child who I thought at the time was immature maybe for their age, my opinion would change. Cant really say till I have one I guess.
I think letting your own kid do it at home is something different. For most of my life I've been allowed to have a glass of wine at dinner or something..(a very small small glass before I got older), but allowing your own child to do something at home not in the presence of other children is completely different
your right... I dont think I would serve it to others children. Not at 18 for sure. Maybe if I saw a 20 year old have a beer in my house, it would be ok...but no I do not agree with the high school graduation party thing of serving alcohol.
That isn't smart either. If that 20 year old gets into a car and something happens. If he said that he got that beer from YOUR house. You are SCREWED!
true, but this is a what if, and I would be monitoring the situation. Kids drink regardless, and I would feel safer it in my house then out on the streets. But again not unless I felt the person was mature and it was a drink or two at say age 20. I dint think anyone would get "legally drunk" in my house unless I didnt know about it.
You could monitor it all you want. If that kid gets into any accident, even if it was after drinking one beer....You will be held responisble! And they could sue the crap out of you. Not only the kids parents but if that kid hit someone the victim can too!
ETA...and i think you could get arrested possibly go to jail!
Sorry but imo i wouldn't rish that for nothing! I am not workin my azz off for someone else to benefit from it

I wouldn't.........however when I graduated HS one girl's parents had a party for her with alcohol. The second you walked into the party you handed over your keys and were expected to sleep over even if you had only 1 drink.
Her mom called the other parents and told them that we all had been drinking and they could either pick us up or we were staying. She made no exceptions.
Her mom took care of everyone and even made a really nice breakfast the next morning.
Yesterday was my nephews HS graduation party. My BIL is the most strict man you will ever meet - I am even scared of him! The kids that had beers at the party are sleeping over the house and my BIL/SIL spoke to each of the parents on the phone before hand. There was seriously about 25 kids sleeping over!
Me personally I would consider doing what they did but under no other circumstances would I allow my kids to drink.

I have to say I would be pretty upset if I 1.) found out my child was given alcohol at a party or 2) I was put in a situation where I had to tell my child he couldnt go because alcohol was being served to underage minors.
Plus, why do teenagers need alcohol to have fun! Everything they do is fun- they are TEENAGERS!

well this is just my opinion, so Im not going to do the back and forth thing...but if I was monitoring it, then how would they get in an accident? Im not talking about allowing them to drink all the time, Im saying there might be a time when I would let a 20 yr old over for say Christmas or something drink.
I was trying to explain better hwat I meant and I see nothing wrong with it...
AND I said above not legally drunk. I would never openly serve alcohol a continuous amount of alcohol to anyones sons or daughters....I dont wanna say kids, because 20 year olds are kids to me....I didnt even live at home at 20, and I was drinking at my friends house's who did live at home some wine etc at parties ...It was not a KEG party etc...
Hopefully that explained it better, what your saying has nothing to do with my opinion or the point I was making
