My future SIL who is marrying DH brother in a couple of weeks expected me and DH's sister to throw her after wedding brunch at HER home and have us do all the preparations- buying the stuff, making the food, serving everyone etc.
You've got to be kidding me. 
She's starting off with the in-laws on the right foot.

Seriosly where do these people come from. I would never ask someone to throw a party for me period, let alone at my house. That's great that you MIL stepped in and backed you up.
