Are you kidding me??? Tell your boss that you have tickets or something and that you NEED the day off. They are vacation days - can they really tell you when you can use them?

I agree. Tell him you have a prior commitment that you cannot break and offer maybe just to come in afterwards.

What are you going to do? You should say you have non refundable tickets or that someone flew in from another state to see you? Can you call in sick last minute - even if she'll know its fake, then you'd also be making a point to show what an a-hole she's being?

Tell her that your DH surprised you by bringing out of town guests to visit and now they're at your house and you can't leave them there...especially because your DH also bought tickets for a Broadway play!

Do you still have the approval? If your boss doesnt budge, I would take it with HR. Tell them that because of the approval you went ahead and made plans that cannot be broken. Good luck!!

I am in HR  she is the director. My DH said he is calling her I really didnt want to get him involved but he is going to say he has tix to something. I hope this is the end of a nightmare for me
