College. DH and I paid for our entire wedding because that is something that I wanted to do but then we got a hefty check from my parents for our wedding gift.

They paid (mostly) for my car, and did take out some loans for my college, although scholarships, and my loans paid the bulk

My reception hall-I paid for (well took out student loans for) college-although my parents gave me a car when I turned 17 (not a new car or anything but still a car) and never charged me rent or anything like that while I lived there and went to college and even after college. They did the best they could

Upbringing, college education, first car (a kick-butt piece of 9-year-old crap) and about 15% of our wedding. And I'm very grateful for all of it.

Barely anything. I voted "Upbringing"
After I turned 16 all I got was dinner and a place to live.
Clothes, car, going out, I paid for all of that myslef since age 16.
But then I went ahead to help my younger siblings out with cars and college.
My mom bought me my wedding dress and paid the officiant.
I paid the rest of the reception and all of college.
I guess it makes me stronger and more independant in the end.

Some of my college education. Scholarship and loans covered the rest.
I paid for my first car, insurance, grad school, house.
Dad did give me a gift towards the wedding but it's only because he is handicapped now and can't spend his retirement money enjoying things. It's give it to me or eventually the government will take it. He rather give some away to the people he loves. He does occassionally gift us money but I so don't expect it or count on it.

NOTHING
No first car, wedding, college, ANYTHING. I am fine with that I did everything myself or my husband and I did it together. I am very proud of us. 
eta. I just saw the upbringing post so I voted for that... But I worked since age 14 and paid for everything myself. The provided me with a roof over my head and food on my plate. thats it.

I voted "upbringing". There was a little help here and there with the wedding, but college was scholarships and loans. The cars I have drove were bought of the street. If they needed to be fixed, I paid the bills.
I started working at 16 and I got meals and lived with my parents until I got married, rent free.

undergrad (the small portion that was not scholarshipped) and my reception hall.
ETA: I was expected to work all the time since I was 14. everything else in my life, I paid for.

My parents bought me a used car at 18, paid for college and grad school (both were CUNY), and my wedding gown. They didn't pay for the wedding but they gave us a very generous check. They didn't charge me rent while I lived at home. I also worked since I was 14 and was always a saver. I am extremely grateful for all my parents have done and I hope I can do for them in the future.

hmm, this is tough. i don't want to sound like a brat, but i'm paying my college loans and fh and i are paying for 99% of the wedding. they paid for the dj and fh parents are paying for the rehearsal.
as far as upbringing, i really never wanted for anything. i worked, yes, but my first car, was paid for by my parents.
my dad will do for one what he does for the other, and i hope to do that one day for my kids

My parents paid for part of college and part of my wedding. They were very generous and I am appreciative, but they also taught me to provide for myself. I am most appreciative for the worth ethic they instilled in me.
