Nope, but I am a former vegetarian, so I don't eat a lot of meat in general anyway.

Re: Spinoff for Catholic Posters

I won't eat meat today or any Friday until Easter.

It's every Wednesday too? I've never heard of that, I thought only Ash Wednesday.

My DH on the otherhand eats meat on those days, which is a PITA.

I won't eat meat today or on Fridays during Lent. I don't go to church, but I think the 12 years of Catholic school have guilted me into this.

Re: Spinoff for Catholic Posters

We dont eat meat on ash wednesday and on fridays during lent.

This year St. Patrick day lands on a Friday, in the past they had lifted it so that you can eat cornedbeef. I hope they do it again this year. I love cornedbeef and cabbage.

Re: Spinoff for Catholic Posters

Today is my birthday. My office took me out and I had shrimp Fajitas. Tonight, it's pasta. It's not hard to do.

No meat today or on Friday's.

That I will eat because I go to DH's grandmother's every year and she makes the whole dinner for me.

I'm the only one who ever wants to go and it's something she feels special doing, so I won't deny her that. Sounds weird but she wouldn't understand or change days. She's a little loopy.

Same here - and 14 years in my case! I tend to only go to Church on major Holy days. I do catch a few Masses during the year at our Hiberinan hall too. Chat Icon

Yes we can have cornedbeef. The Catholic Church was given dispensation for St. Patrick's Day.

Re: Spinoff for Catholic Posters

I goofed and bought a ton of meat this week, so I've eaten meat today. Usually I don't eat meat on Ash Wednesday or on Fridays during Lent. I can't do the fasting thing though; I'll pass out from getting too hungry.

I'm almost positve. I was talking about it with my mother the other night and she said we were given dispensation. I hope she isn't wrong....I'll have to ask her again tonight....

Re: Spinoff for Catholic Posters

I was at a wedding once, St. Pat's Day on a Friday, the priest came in and said meat was fine at the end of the mass.
