Raw or cooked?
I love anything tempura (shrimp tempura roll), new york rolls (crab, cucumber and japanese mayo...ask for spicy mayo), and crab meat salad.

Re: 1st time Sushi eater here!

I would stick with rolls instead of sashimi for a first timer. Spicy tuna roll, definately! California rolls and salmon rolls are ok.

I think you will love it! Enjoy!

I would try a California roll...its made with crab legs, and veggies. also, salmon is a good starter fish.

My favorite too! I love when they add a piece of asparagus to it as well. Chat Icon

See, I much prefer the sashimi to the rolls - not a huge fan of avacado, though, so maybe that's it.

I love tuna and salmon sashimi. And actually the shrimp is usually cooked. I tend to stay away from the unagi and whitefish.

They're expensive too...where I go they're 10.00 for a roll. But they give you 8 instead of 6.

Re: 1st time Sushi eater here!

There's a little place in West Hempstead on Hempstead Turnpike called Sushi Palace. I've been going there for years.

Anyone have any other good sushi places they recommend??
